Melanie has been teaching movement for over 20 years, beginning as a dance instructor before earning her degree in Exercise Biology from UC Davis and expanding into strength and mobility coaching. Her early background in dance shaped her appreciation for both discipline and creativity in movement.
Growing up in competitive Irish dance, Melanie became a North American Irish dance champion in solo step dancing and a world champion in team events. Years of dancing in restrictive dance shoes also led to a deeper interest in foot mobility and the important role the feet play in overall movement quality and body mechanics.
She brings a blend of education, empathy, and evidence-based training into her coaching and believes progress comes from curiosity, consistency, and meeting yourself where you are — without judgment.
Melanie aims to help people feel more confident, capable, and connected to their bodies both inside and outside the gym.
Melanie’s purpose as a coach is to help people build strength, mobility, and confidence in a way that feels sustainable and supportive for the long term. She is passionate about helping clients better understand their bodies and develop movement patterns that improve not only performance in the gym, but also quality of life outside of it. She is especially drawn to working with people who feel intimidated by fitness culture, disconnected from their bodies, recovering from injury, navigating physical changes, or looking for a more thoughtful and individualized approach to training. Her coaching emphasizes education, body awareness, and meeting people where they are rather than forcing them into rigid systems. Melanie is motivated by helping clients feel more capable, resilient, and empowered in their everyday lives. She believes movement should support longevity, adaptability, and overall well-being, helping people continue doing the things they love for years to come.
